Hello Kitty Cake

My daughter's 5th birthday. She chose a Hello Kitty theme. We did zebra print and pink. My sister made the super cute Hello Kitty cake pops for me. 

95th Birthday

My grandma and my kids great-grandma turned 95! We had a big family party to celebrate. I was excited to make grandma a special cake. My daughter was trying to fit 95 candles onto the cake ... we could only fit about 40 though. 

Graduation

My oldest nephew, Austin, graduated from high school. He is going into the Marines in October. So, I made him two graduation cakes. The first is a marine hat and then second, his school colors - graduation cap. I love when people think that my cakes are real things. One of the guest thought the graduation cap was real, sitting out for decoration. 

Baseball

I made these for the end of season party for baseball. Of course the boys loved them!

Gender Reveal

A gender reveal cake ...
This couple did purple & green instead of the traditional pink and blue.
This cake was GREEN inside! It's a BOY.

Rachel's Bridal Shower

Rachel is like a sister to me. She is getting married ... yeah! My sister threw her bridal shower and asked me to make her cake. It was my favorite flavor combo - vanilla cake with lemon filling & was super yummy - and pretty too. I handmade all of the flowers with gumpaste. That chevron pattern is super difficult to cut and get on the cake ... plus she wanted it gold. But, it came out.

40th Anniversary

My parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. I made a smaller version of their wedding cake to help celebrate.

Airplane Party

6th Birthday Cake for an Airplane themed party. 

Whoooo's 4th Birthday is it?

My niece had an owl themed birthday party. I made the cake using a 3d care bears cake pan & then modified. It turned out super cute! Happy Birthday - you're a hoot :)

Wedding things....

Been busy the last month or so with wedding related cakes.

First a 40th anniversary cake.

I did a cake for a friend's bridal shower to match the invitation.

Then the following week did another friends wedding cake. My first wedding cake, but so much fun! She let me have free reign on what I wanted to do. The wedding was at a ranch and not traditional. They did an ice cream sundae bar for the guests, so the cake was just for the two of them to cut. I did an ombre ruffle cake - to match the ruffle detail on her dress. A lot of the decor was burlap, so I incorporated that in the cake topper.

Beach Party

My niece celebrated her birthday at the aquarium and beach. Her beach themed cake turned out perfect for the occasion. Happy Birthday Kenna!

My little princess birthday

Of course I always plan extra special cakes for my kids birthday's. This year my daughter requested a princess party. So, of course we needed an edible purple castle to go along with the party. All started out well .. but this cake turned out to be a nightmare. Long story short .. it ended up falling in on the bottom layer, so our 3 story castle became 2 & it wasn't anywhere near perfect ... but it still tasted yummy & the girls still thought it was amazing - especially my little birthday princess (so that's all that really matters). Lesson learned ... don't place the cake (without supports) temporarily when it's hot - it will get stuck. . .

Oh and the super cute princess dress cupcake where a must as well! They were the perfect size for the girls.

1st, 5th & 90th Birthday

I've had lots of cake jobs lately - here are some of the birthday's that I've done recently.

A 1st birthday for a very special boy - my youngest nephew, Ty.

A 5th birthday. It was a Wild Kratt's theme (a TV show), it's my son's favorite TV show, so he helped me design the cake. It was a huge success!

A 90th birthday party. The guest of honor was thrilled to have a cake in her honor. I was glad that it held up, it was pretty much the hottest day of the year.

And I made LOTS of red velvet cupcakes for a graduation party. Of course I had to sample one, since it is my favorite with yummy cream cheese frosting!

40th Anniversary

My sister had to make a cake for a 40th anniversary party - so she baked it & I decorated it. I should do all my cakes like that - it makes it so much easier :).
It turned out really nice!

Leopard Print Cake

I did a leopard print cake for a tween birthday.

It turned out super cute.

I hand-painted all of the leopard spots.

It is a 2 tiered cake, but had to be assembled on-site, so I didn't get a final photo.
