16th Birthday

For my nephew's 16th birthday - I made him a car cake. His favorite/dream car is the 2010 Camaro, so - I made it to resemble that. Of course in his favorite color! Turned out cute.

Tink Cake

A 2nd birthday cake for Marissa.
Her party is a Tinkerbell theme - so I made Pixie Hollow!
I did a regular cake & also a matching mini cake for the birthday girl.
The fairies are little toys - not edible, but cute!

Bridal Shower Cake #2

Another bridal shower cake. This one for my future sister-in-law, Emily. This was a themed shower - 27 dresses. So, I made the cakes ... what else - dresses! One was marble and the other strawberry. The pink skirt one, I wasn't sure if it was going to make it to the shower. When it baked, it baked hollow inside. So, it didn't have a very good structure. It cracked & eventually during the shower - the back part of it came tumbling off. It looked cute while it lasted!

Candyland Birthday

For my daughter's 2nd birthday - we had a Candyland themed party. I saw so many inspiration cakes with a replica of the candyland game board ... but, they just weren't cute enough! So - I thought this idea was definately cute enough for my little 2 year old. Once the cake was covered in fondant - it was actually really easy to do. Most of the cake was candy and buttercream. Just lots of little details. It was all worth it when Sam woke up in the morning and saw her cake. Her eyes got huge and she said "WOW - Pretty Cake" and then of course "MY cake". Too cute! With all the candy we had at the party, we could have skipped cake all together...but, what's a birthday without cake!

I represented a few of the different "lands" of Candyland : I have no idea what these places are really called?? King Castle (with ice cream cones), Lollipop Land (with lollipops and jelly bean grass), Peppermint Land (with what else - peppermints), Gumdrop land (with dots and the tree).

My birthday girl with her cake.
The lollipop side of the cake.
The peppermint side of the cake. I wanted to put candy canes ... but couldn't find any & was too lazy to make them out of fondant.
Blowing out the candles!

Bridal Shower

I did a purple & white bridal shower cake with polka dots and three colors of buttercream flowers. The bottom layer was: strawberry and vanilla with vanilla frosting and the top layer was white cake with lemon buttercream frosting. Both were yummy. I got lots of wonderful comments too!

Like...
This is the best cake I've ever had.
This cake is SO pretty.
The cutest bridal shower cake I've ever seen.
I love the cake.
WOW! Did you actually make that.

So, needless to say - even though I'm my toughest critic and could see all the flaws and imperfections ... everyone else thought it was wonderful! I did writing all the way around the bottom layer that said "Congratulations Cassie".

The Bride to Be with her cake!

Cowgirl Cake

A cake for my friend Rachel's 30th birthday hoedown/moving to Texas party. Had SO much to do this weekend, so didn't get to spend a lot of time on the cake - but still turned out cute. I used my new bake even strips ... love them! The cake stayed super extra moist and was so evenly baked. I didn't want to make frosting, so I just used the chocolate I had for writing. I wanted to do pink though.
