For my niece's slumber party birthday - I made a cake with 6 girls snug as a bug in a rug. Three of the girls had brown hair and three had blonde. The cake was yellow with chocolate chip filling and topped with buttercream and then covered with fondant decorations.

The theme was pink and zebra - so - for the sheet, I used zebra print and the blanket was pink. The girls heads were cute, some had rosy cheeks, crooked smiles, freckles, etc. They all had little hands with red painted nails.

It's a BUGGY Birthday

For my daughter's 1st Birthday the theme was BUGS. I saw a lot of cute ideas for the cake that I wanted...but when I got a quote for what I envisioned...it was over $300!!!! So, then and there I decided that I would get creative and learn to make a custom cake. It turned out SO cute. I made a 2 layer cake with 2 flavors: Lemon with Vanilla Filling on top and Marble with Chocolate Fudge filling on the bottom. The whole cake was covered in light green tinted buttercream and then topped with all the fondant decorations. I worked on the bugs for a while before and they were so cute. July 10, 2009
